All you ever needed to know about key safety legislation in a fast paced and energetic course. This is an ideal companion to the Absolute Basics in Safety course and is designed to help you understand the minimum key UK Safety Legislation that every organisation should be complying with. You will also learn about what is involved in writing a safety policy.
This pragmatic, no-nonsense course is presented by a fully qualified Safety Trainer and Practitioner who has extensive safety legislation knowledge, combined with real hands-on experience in the implementation of successful health & safety management systems within SME organisations.
Who should attend?
Business owners, Directors appointed with Safety responsibilities, Senior Managers with Operational responsibilities or if you have been nominated as the Competent Person for safety. No previous safety knowledge is required although attendance on the other 2 safety briefings would be useful to give you the full context of what is required.
What will the course cover?- What is the difference between Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance?
- Why is the Health and Safety At Work Act still so important?
- What does “so far as is reasonably practical” actually mean?
- What should I include in a Safety Policy?
- How do I consult on safety issues with employees?
- What is meant by “The Six Pack” and what should we be doing to meet the requirements?
- What does COSHH stand for and what relevance is it to us?
