Managing people often strikes fear and dread into most Managers, but it does not have to be that way.

By coming along to our short, but informative course, business owners and Managers will be provided with the essentials needed to manage people, and most importantly, avoid finding themselves on the wrong side of employment law – which can be costly!

Based on our extensive HR experience, we will share with you some of the most misguided beliefs that Managers hold as fact. We will talk about the most frequent mistakes Managers make when dealing with staff; as well as the difficulties created through lack of documentation, or not knowing or following their own employment procedures.

The topics covered during this half day session will include the myths, mistakes and muddle surrounding employment law; contractual documentation; poor communication and record keeping; absence; disciplinary; performance management; and recruitment.

The course objectives will include: –

• To dispel frequently held myths about employing people
• Identify and learn from the common mistakes made by Managers
• To avoid the muddle that happens from lack of clarity

This course is ideal for newly appointed/promoted Managers, as well as being a refresher for experienced Managers, as we debunk myths, show you what you can and cannot do, and make sure you avoid fear and confusion when dealing with staffing issues.

We’re here to give you the confidence to manage people effectively and we’ll do this through fun interactive sessions, using quizzes and common scenarios, to reinforce the learning.

The course will commence at 8.30 am, with registration and refreshments from 8.00 am. The course will finish around 1.30 pm, with a break for refreshments and a light buffet lunch.
