How do you decide that someone is performing well?  If they are, how do you encourage them to be even better, and if not, what do you do about it?  These are challenges which Managers face on a daily basis.

This course helps Managers with these issues by having realistic expectations on what people are capable of doing; knowing when to use performance improvement plans and programmes for personal development; whilst continuing to motivate and encourage good performers.

Every organisation is having to review its costs, now more than ever! Managing the costs of absenteeism - sick pay, lost productivity, presenteeism, morale etc. - is an essential management skill.  Dealing with unreliable staff throwing regular “sickies” or staff working when they really should not, can also make a difference to how successful you are perceived as a Manager.

Effective return to work meetings and good attendance records are fundamental to reducing absence.  Knowing when and how to use occupational health reports is an additional key management tool.  And, supporting and managing employees who have genuine sickness, whether physical and/or mental health is crucial.

This practical, interactive half-day course will provide you with tips and tools on addressing these and other issues to help increase attendance and drive down costs.   We have designed the course to suit those who are new to Management, as well as being worthwhile for the experienced Manager or HR professional looking to enhance their knowledge and increase their practical skills.

The cost for this course will be £150.00 plus VAT per delegate, including lunch.  Preferential rates for clients.
